Kids Valentine’s Day Party Game Ideas
63Have a Little Fun
It can be so much fun to throw a Valentine's Day party. Who needs expensive restaurants when you can provide fun and games at home for a fraction of the price? Plus, you can include the whole family and friends, too.
If you’ve got kids in attendance, they’ll love playing games. Who says Valentine’s Day has to be exclusively for lovers? You can make it a celebration of love of every kind. Include the kids in the preparations. And if you have adults at the party, they won’t mind acting like kids for one night.
Here are some games you can play.
Valentine Mad Libs: Fill in the Blanks
Remember the old Mad Lib games where a friend asked you questions and then filled your responses into blanks in a story. When you read the story, it was hysterical, right? Do the same thing, but with a Valentine’s Day theme. Write a story on your computer leaving blanks every so often. The story can be about love, a fairy tale, a popular couple, or anything you want. Under the blanks, make up things that the person will have to come up with. An example would be “name of a fruit” or “adjective” or “place to go on vacation.” Get silly with the requested words and you will have a ball. Make several copies of the sheet. When you’re ready to play the game, pair up couples. One person supplies the words while the other hides the story and fills in the blanks secretly. When every couple is done, have one person from each read the story aloud. It’s so funny what people come up with.
Musical Chairs Valentine’s Day Style
Play the old game of musical chairs with chairs decorated with hearts and streamers. Use only love songs.
Have one less chair than people playing. When the music stops, the last one standing is out. Take away a chair and continue until there’s a final winner.
Famous Couples
Have the people at your party try to supply the other half of famous couples. Have a list with names of celebrities, pop icons, and people children would know from history. Don’t make it too hard but don’t make it too easy either. One person can be the leader and call out a half of the couple. The other people in the room have to try to guess his or her partner. Hand out prizes like candy as people make the right guess. Couples might include Adam and Eve, Mickey and Minnie, Donald and Daisy, Bonnie and Clyde. Just be sure you realize that the younger generation probably won’t know the cultural icons of the far past.

Decorate a Cookie - Blindfolded
Have Valentine cookies on hand with frosting and candy decorations. Have each contestant decorate a cookie blindfolded. You can either make it a contest to see whose comes out best or you can just make it for fun. Make the decorator write their name on the cookie while blindfolded so it’s even more challenging.
Kids love candy so be sure to make your prizes fun by giving out different kinds of candy. You may even want to have heart shaped bags on hand so that kids can collect their prizes.
